These pre-crimped cable assemblies are ready to insert into compatible D38999 circular connectors, typically a receptacle such as 20FC35SN.

Cable assembly 88001650-TRB-M-348-x provides a 124 Ω shielded twisted pair for a differential signal, with a Triax/TRB Male Plug on one end and three M39029/56-348 socket contacts crimped onto the pin, ring, and shield conductors at the other end, ready for insertion into 3 positions of any compatible D38999 connector.

The Triax plug will mate with the Trompeter CBBJR79 Triax/TRB jacks used on all PRL Triax products, as well with any compatible connectors.

Insertion of the crimped contacts into the connector housings is simple, and a plastic insertion/removal tool is included with the connector housing. This video from Amphenol demonstrates the process:

which is the same for any standards-compliant D38999-style connector. We have found that lubricating the contacts by dipping them in alcohol makes insertion easier, and in some cases even obviates the need for the insertion tool. The alcohol is non-damaging to either the contact or the housing, and evaporates quickly.

Related cable assembly 88001640-TRB-M-360 provides a similar Triax connection, but with three M39029/58-360 pins crimped onto the pin, ring, and shield wires, ready for insertion into 3 positions of the mating D38999 connector, typically a plug such as 26FC35PN.
