PRL-852 RF Switches & Scanners

Basic Lab Tools > RF Switches & Scanners > PRL-852

Note: The PRL-852-RM replaces the PRL-852 in all applications, as the newer model now provides both manual and remote control in one unit.*

Applications:

  • Switching GHz/Sub-Nanosecond Rise-Time Signals
  • GHz Signal Routing or Scanning

Features:

  • DC to 3 GHz Usable Frequency Range
  • Up to 2.69 GHz 3 dB Bandwidth
  • Z0=50 Ω
  • Typical 1.65 dB Insertion Loss and 42 dB isolation @1.25 GHz
  • 6 ms Switching Time
  • BNC or SMA I/O Connectors
  • Manual or Remote Control
  • AC/DC Adapter included

PRL-852-RM-, Qty:   @ $295/ea.

Description:

The PRL-852 is a dual channel, 1 x 2 DC-coupled signal router designed for 50 Ω I/O applications. The usable frequency band extends from DC to over 3 GHz. A signal connected to input C can be routed to output A or B. It can also be used as a Reflective Scanner in the reversed direction, in that signals connected to the A and B inputs, for example, can be scanned one at a time at the C output. Because signals connected to the non-selected ports are not terminated, these signals will be reflected, hence the term reflective scanner.

The PRL-852-BNC has BNC I/O connectors, and the PRL-852-SMA has SMA I/O connectors. Each channel is provided with toggle switches and 2 x 2 stick pins for channel selection. When a toggle switch is in the "up" position TTL/CMOS logic inputs may be used to control the output port. A logic Hi connects port C to port A, and a Lo connects C to B. If no input is connected to the control pin, it will be Hi.

The PRL-852 is housed in a 1.3-in. x 2.9-in. x 1.5-in. aluminum extrusion and is provided with a ±8.5 V AC/DC adaptor. If mounting is desired, a pair of 35001420 mounting brackets can accommodate two PRL modules of the same length. A number of PRL modules can also share a single ± 8.5 V AC/DC adapter using the PRL-730 voltage distribution module. Please see the Accessories Section for more detail.

* The original PRL-852 and PRL-852-RM models (e.g. with either toggle switches or remote pins, but not both) will be available on special order until stocks are depleted. Please specify "Rev. 0" to the older models.
